Global Warming: Real or Not Real
Global warming has been a concern to many people for the past few years, but is it really a thing?
Nasa says,”The current warming trend is of particular significance because most of it is very likely human-induced and proceeding at a rate that is unprecedented in the past 1,300 years”
What these scientist mean by that is we as humans are causing global warming to occur at a faster speed. While this is true due to the amount of carbon dioxide we put in the air; whose to say that its not increases due to natural means as well. Decomposition of animals and plants releases carbon dioxide as well. The changes in climate are causing many species to die therefore releasing excess carbon dioxide.
Nasa in the same article states, “Just in the last 650,000 years there have been seven cycles of glacial advance and retreat, with the abrupt end of the last ice age about 7,000 years ago marking the beginning of the modern climate era — and of human civilization. Most of these climate changes are attributed to very small variations in Earth’s orbit that change the amount of solar energy our planet receives.”
By saying this it leads people to think that global warming has happened before. When it says seven cycles of glacial advance and retreat that means that the glaciers have been changing their location for thousands upon thousands of years. Glaciers change location by melting and reforming in different locations. Within the Alaskan glaciers ,that everyone’s been so concerned about, they have found evidence of ice forming on the opposite side of what they show the public. This in fact means that why they have lost ” over 20 cubic miles of ice” they have also gained “roughly 30 feet per year” (according to the Alaskan Glaciers Directory).
All in all global warming may be real but its not a real threat. The glaciers are balancing out not melting away and its happened before so theres no need to worry.
