Pep Assembly takes new format in COVID world
School looks different this year amid COVID precautions. While some events have been canceled, others have managed to adapt to the changing times. The Ada High student council team managed to salvage pep assemblies this year by moving them outdoors and incorporating activities that allow for social distancing.
The first pep assembly of the 2020-2021 school year was held Oct. 2 on the school lawn. The assembly included line dancing, bubble blowing and a freezing cold challenge between football, cheer and Couganns. After submerging both arms and a leg in buckets of ice, sophomore football player Caden Balthrop emerged the winner of a $10 Campus Corner gift card.
The goal of the pep rally was to promote unity and increase school spirit ahead of the Cougars’ Friday night matchup against the Blanchard Lions.
