Cystic Fibrosis, a genetic disease that causes the build up of thick mucus, sweat, and digestive juices.  Instead of acting like a lubricant, they will plug up the tubes, ducts, and passageways within the human body.  Especially those in the lungs and pancreas.  Many, due to the reasearch of the C.F.F, can now live longer into their 20’s to 30’s.

Ms. Wright is the founder of the Cystic Fibrosis Contest here at Ada High. Her reason for starting this contest?  Ms. Nelson, once a Deca adviser also, had relatives who had Cystic Fibrosis.  After researching the disease, Ms. Wright felt that since it wasn’t such a well known disease, that Ada High needed to help find the cure.  Ms. Wright said, ” Let’s all help to find the cure.”

The money that has been raised from the contest will be mailed to the headquarters in Bethany, OK.  All of Ada High has raised a total of $278.17 for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation (CFF).  Coming in first place was Mrs. Waters 3rd hour class with $178.43, and in second is Mr. Elliot’s class with $22. 91.
