The Legend of the Black Forest

The Legend of the Black Forest

As darkness envelopes the evening sky, Emylia and Maxwell Grace begin to guide Jordyn and Naomi to the hazardous place where it all starts.

“Are we there yet?” Jordyn asked annoyingly.

“We will get there when we get there,” chorused Emylia and Maxwell.

“Yeah, we passed it an hour ago; we are just looking for a parking spot,” stated Naomi sarcastically.

As time flew by and the forest got darker, Emylia and Maxwell, with the help of Naomi and Jordyn, scuttled to get their campsite safely set up. On the other side of the forest, another group of curious roommates Ryder, Charlie, Asher, and Mitchell are leading themselves to their own condemnation.

“Do you really know where we are going?” Charlie curiously asked Ryder.

“No, aren’t you supposed to be the one who is leading us, not me?”

“It feels like we have been walking the same path for ages,” uttered Asher.

“I don’t think we should be worried about how long we have been walking, we should be worrying about where he is leading us,” perceived Mitchell.

While hours have passed lethargically for Mitchell, Asher, Ryder, and Charlie, daylight had faded, and Maxwell, Emylia, Noami, and Jordyn were relaxing around the campfire after the struggle of setting up camp. Being the twins that they are, Maxwell and Emylia take the opportunity to tell of an old legend that has passed down through their family throughout generations.

“In this very forest, The Legend of the Black Forest was simply used to scare the local folks,” started Maxwell. “People are known to go missing and even killed in the foggy maze of the entangled forest for those who come upon the underground cove of the perpetrators. I’m not one to believe in legends like this, for I simply believe it is all-“

“What was that?” exclaimed Naomi, referring to the deafening snap that interrupted Maxwell.
