The Oklahoma Blood Institute
Every two seconds someone needs blood, while less than ten percent eligible actually donate. As an organization it is dependent upon volunteer blood donors. So it is always in need of donors, one donation can save up to three peoples lives. The Oklahoma Blood Institute, or OBI, is able to offer a variety of services for the community, those like running a bone marrow registry, was instrumental in the development of the original HIV Antigen Test in 1985, and much more.
Ada High School is hosting a blood drive on Wednesday February 25th. From 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. in the ACAC. A photo ID is required for donation. For more information contact Kay Gamble or go to the website: http://obi.org/

Giving blood is a good way to help others without you even knowing. Bone marrow giving is also a way of helping but it does hurt worse and it is a more complicated way of donating. It’s probably still worth it
