Environmental Science and Everything In It
Here at Ada High, we have a class called environmental science. Environmental science is a class that studies the environment and different aspects of it.
Right now we are working on eco columns. An eco column is basically a little world that we created for outside organisms. You put six plastic bottles together, and in each bottle you have a different living or non living organism. This project started on September 26th, and we are supposed to keep our eco columns alive until December. Each bottle has a different environment. We have two aquatic areas, two terrestrial areas, and two decomposition areas. It is up to us to keep each area alive until December and see what each organism does. That’s just something big we’ve been working on.
In environmental science, each week, we go outside and pick up trash and just clean up around the school. Littering not only makes our school look so trashy, but is also so bad for the environment. Plastics are being littered all over the world by thousands of people and can kill and entangle wildife. We want our school to be clean not only for ourselves but for the people that drive by and see it. Even if you’re not the one littering, if you see trash on the ground, you should pick it up and help out. We have trash cans all over the school. Environmental science is a very fun class and it also teaches you a lot about the environment and how you can keep it clean.
Keep saving the planet Ada High!
