Lose the Hoods
Have you ever been outside on a cold day and decide to pull a hood over your head to keep warm? Well, Oklahoma State Senator Don Barrington, a Republican, is proposing a law that will ban all identity concealing clothing in public. However, some people say that this might be going too far.
The bill will broaden a law that already exists on concealing one’s identity when committing a crime. Barrington says it’s a public safety issue to help protect people from crime and harassment.
The bill excludes, Halloween, birthdays, parades, circuses, and those worn for religious purposes.
In my opinion, this bill that might be passed is a bad idea. I know people who will just wear their hood no matter what the weather is like. Associating wearing a hood in public with those who commit crimes will create more problems than it would solve.
However, lawmakers claim that the purpose of the bill is not to ban hoodies, just to prevent identity concealing clothing being worn in public.

Any article of clothing with a hoodie should not be banned because they don’t do any harm to people. They actually keep us warm and some are for religious reasons.
