There’s “Snow” Predicting The Weather
Winter weather is abruptly moving in, freezing out what was left of the summer warmth and barely allowing fall weather to make an appearance. Temperatures have rapidly dropped in the past week from the lower 60’s to the freezing teens, welcoming winter weather. As fall leaves quickly abandon trees, snow is expected to swiftly take their place by the end of this week.
It is unclear how much and if the winter mix is to hit the Ada area this weekend. According to www.wunderground.com, there is only a 20 percent chance of snow. Although the percentage is small, it is a good idea to take this last minute winter weather warning as a chance to get your house and vehicles ready for the frigid weather to come.
You can’t necessarily prevent winter weather, but you cant help prevent damages caused by the frosty forecast. Here are some mindful tips from www.weather.com to protect you and your home:
- Cover pipes that mat be exposed to the cold
- Leave sinks and showers slightly running to help prevent your pipes from freezing
- Seal cracks and holes in outside walls and foundations near water pipes with caulking
- Keep cabinet doors open to allow warm air to circulate around pipes.
- DO NOT LEAVE PETS OUTSIDE
Be sure to keep warm and watch for forecast changes in the coming days.
