Candidates the media doesn’t mention

This year the two main candidates are Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton, and the media covers them wildly. However, there are three more presidential candidates that America rarely hears about: Gary Johnson, Libertarian, Jill Stein,Green Party, and Evan McMullin, Independent.

The Libertarian party is an American presidential party that promotes civil liberties and a version of capitalism. This election the Libertarian party is lead by Gary Johnson. According to his official website, Johnson highly believes in ones personal choices and wants people to be able to make their own decisions. Johnson has a political background; he was formerly governor of New Mexico. Johnson’s running mate is Bill Weld, who was formerly governor of Massachusetts.

Jill Stein is the political candidate of the Green Party. Her official website says, The Green Party is based on four core values, peace, ecology, social justice, and democracy. The party is made up of ecologists and and activists, and has had Jill Stein run for the presidency twice. Stein’s plan of action is called “Power To The People Plan”, and is based of climate change and protecting the Earth and humanity. Stein’s running mate is Ajumu Baraka, who has background in the Black Libertarian Movement and many other movements and organizations.

Evan McMullin is this elections Independent Party candidate. McMullin is a former CIA operative, and the House GOP’s Chief Policy Director. According to his website, McMullin believes he can bring new ideas and policies to not only the White House and D.C., but also the American people. His running mate is Mindy Finn, who served as the founder and the president of Empowered Women.

These candidates offer voters options in addition to the traditional Republican and Democratic nominees.
