Mr. Robbins Teacher of the Month
Mr. Robbins is a History and an Avid teacher here at Ada High. Robbins is the teacher everyone tells you to hide from and just get out of his class. He is seen as one of the strictest and hardest teachers here, but what is he like below the surface? This writer asked some of his former students to find out.
Senior Morgan Galbreaith had a lot to say on the topic. “Coach Robbins is a great teacher! He was one of those teachers that will make you work for the grades, but it will definitely help you in the long run. He is an all around good guy. I love being able to go to him for advice and him talking… and talking… and talking until he finally gets it out.”
Another opinion on Robbins was given to us by Sarah Reynolds. “Robbins is one of the hardest teachers I’ve had, but everything he does is to prepare us for college and life outside of high school. He had us write so many essays that I can now write one with no problem.”
When talking to Mr. Robbins, bypassing the academic mumbo jumbo, and asking him to list three hobbies, four fun facts, and three facts about his family.
His three hobbies are as follows: Playing music, Carpentry, and Teaching his daughter how to fight like a ninja.
The four fun facts he gave are: He has a Nikola Tesla button that Hannah Piowaty gave him, He likes fancy pants, he also said he has a beautiful wife, and apparently can rock with two exclamation points.
The three facts on his family are: They have two dogs and one cat, they like to ride bikes together, and they like to go to zoos.
Lastly, asking him if he had anything else he would like to share with the school. He said, “I was a 1994 graduate of Ada high. I would also like people to know I am very mean and unsympathetic.”
This writers personal opinion is that while Coach Robbins class is tough, and annoyingly challenging, it is actually extremely beneficial. Also, just so its clear, he is lying about being unsympathetic and mean.
All and all, Coach Robbins is a wonderful teacher who definitely takes the task of preparing others for life seriously.
