“I Joseph Robinette Biden Jr. do solemnly swear that I will faithfully execute the office of president of the United States.”   -Joe Biden (46th President of the United States of America)

“I Kamala Davey Harris do solemnly swear that I will support and defend the constitution of the United States against all enemies foreign and domestic. That I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same, that I take this obligation freely without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion and I will faithfully discharge the duties of the office apon on which I am about to enter, so help me god.” -Kamala Harris (Vice President of the United States)

On January 20th, 2021 the Inauguration of Biden and Harrison was in play to take hold of the new future of America, while safely social distancing. Previous President Donald J. Trump and First Lady Melania Trump were departured from the White House earlier that morning. A helicopter led their way home to Florida.

As of right now 6 days into the new presidency, Biden is invoking the Defense Production Act, along with a new mask policy, and the ban of a few laws that were in play when Trump was in office. He also plans to inject 100 million vaccines into the society up until his 100 day mark as president; but still continue to give out the vaccine as any good human would do. Many oil field workers lost their jobs due to this election, but the rise of minimum wage and pay will foresee more opportunities for low income families and give them a higher chance of succeeding.

Harris is the first South Asian/ black woman to be Vice President of the United States. This is such a relief to many people and gives such inspiration to many young girls to one day be a leader and a person to look up to. Taking a look back on past Presidential things, there wasn’t much thought of there ever being a female Vice President. Now the future has risen and we have so many opportunities to make things right for once and take new leaps of success.

This election was most definitely the most important election we have ever had before, considering the amount of stress and anxiety people felt was far more boosted this time. Before that 4 year term was up, some people felt they didn’t have the freedom that other people had due to things they couldn’t fix/being themselves. And don’t get me wrong people still feel that way and I totally agree with that, but now people see it as having a chance to live a better life. It’s given them a chance to make history and be the first to finally make a change.

Now as we wrap this up, you can learn so much just by looking it up or asking another person that is educated on things such as:

  • Racism
  • Equality
  • The BLM Movement
  • Politics
  • What’s a riot and what’s not
  • Reasons for peoples doings
  • How to listen to someone without arguing back

And so many more. Ask please, if you do not understand the easiest way is to inform yourself/ask someone/or just listen to the people around you. Take other opinions in and voice your own without blatantly being rude or non-justifying the other opinion. The country would be way less divided if we just listened to one another instead of automatically thinking the other side is wrong.
