Cougarthon comes to an end
The Cougarthon has been a months long event. The Student Council has raised $20,000 in support of the Children’s Miracle Foundation. The Student Council held several events in order to raise this money. They worked during and after school to reach their goals of helping the children at the Oklahoma University Children’s Hospital.
The Cougarthon started of with Game Night. Students paid $5 for a ticket and played unlimited video and board games. There were several tournaments, which were the main event.

The Penny Wars was a friendly competition between the three grade levels where they dropped pennies into a jar during AHS sporting games.
The Car Bash offered students the opportunity to pay $0.50 for one hit or $3 for ten to hit a donated car with a sledgehammer or a crowbar. This raised $100 dollars and was a all-day event.
Rush Week was by far the most profitable event in the Cougarthon. It raised $7,900 dollars. Candidates were nominated from various school clubs and organizations. Candidates participated in a week of fundraising. At the end of the week, the male and female candidates who raised the most money were crowned Rush King and Queen.
On Feb. 10 Student Council Lunch Bar was a fun break at school. Students could buy a meal from McDonalds for $2.
The last event was the Dancethon, where the students could get out of class and have fun. There were music and games. The energy was high and there were several dance offs.
With funds raised through Cougarthon events and donations from a variety of community donors and sponsors, Ada High School raised approximately $20,000 to help Children’s Miracle Foundation. The AHS Student Council is already thinking of ways to top that next year.
