What Will You Hunt?
There are various hunting seasons throughout the year. Some people prefer hunting deer while others prefer hunting rabbits and squirrels.
The seasons are:
Squirrel-May 15 – Jan. 15
Dove- Sept.1 – Oct. 31 & Dec. 20 – 28
Free Hunting – Sept. 6 -7
Antelope Archery – Oct. 1 – 14
Bear Archery – Oct. 1 – 19
Deer Archery – Oct. 1 – Jan. 15
Elk Archery – Oct. 1 – Jan. 15
Turkey Archery – Oct. 1 – Jan. 15
Rabbit- Oct. 1 – Mar. 15
Youth Rifle (Deer) – Oct. 17 – 19
Youth Rifle (Elk) – Oct. 17 -19
Muzzle Loader (Bear) – Oct. 25 – Nov. 2
Turkey Rifle – Nov. 1 -21
Quail – Nov. 8 – Feb. 15
Deer Rifle – Nov. 22 – Dec. 7
Elk Rifle – Nov. 22 – Dec. 7
Pheasant – Dec. 1 – Jan. 31
Deer Holiday Rifle – Dec. 19 – 28
Elk Holiday Rifle – Dec. 19 – 28
Youth Spring Turkey – April 4 -5 & April 18 – 19
Spring Turkey – April 6 – May 6 & April 20 – May 6
Tags are required for certain types of game during some seasons. For instance, during deer season requires the purchase a tag before a deer may be killed. Tags range in price, deer tags are ten dollars. For more information go to http://wildlifedepartment.com/hunting/seasons.htm.
