May 9th-10th the Lady Cougar tennis team made their appearance at the Oklahoma City Tennis Center for State. The girls placed first at regionals with No.1 Singles Taylor Wood placing 1st, No.2 Singles Haley Dean placed 1st, No.1 Doubles Natalie Keel and Karsen Sheffield placed 1st and No.2 Doubles Menee Thomsen and Mikala Whelchel placed 1st. Finishing this well at Regionals made the girls double teams seeded 1 and the singles seeded 2. When the girls arrived at State they started off the day winning all two games. This guaranteed the girls a semi-finals match to start off the second day. When Saturday came around all the girls won their semi match to make it to the State finals. Finishing the day off No.1 Singles Taylor Wood placed 1st at State. No.2 Singles placed 2nd at State, No.1 Doubles Natalie Keel and Karsen Sheffield placed 1st, and No.2 Doubles Menee Thomsen and Mikala Whelchel placed 1st. These great finishing gave the girls a State title with a total of 34 points. Second place had a total of 19 points and third place had a total of 18. Congratulations Ada Lady cougar tennis team!
