The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian is a novel by Sherman Alexie, a Native American author who has also written the stories Reservation Blues and Flight.

The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian follows a boy named Junior Arnold Spirit and his journey to receive a better education than what he receives at the Spokane Indian Reservation. He is branded a traitor by the others from the reservation and has to deal with the bullying and tragedies that are thrown his way.

He expresses himself by drawing cartoons about his life to help him cope with his troubles from being born with a variety of medical conditions, to losing his best friend, and even the death of family members.

The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian is a National Book Award Winner and a truly funny tale of finding the courage to achieve something better for yourself and the struggle to achieve it.
