Q: Tell me about yourself. Where are you from?

A: “I’m from Texas. We moved here from Austin, I lived in Austin 20 years before we moved here.”

Q: How did you get into education and how long have you been in education?

A: “I have an art degree and I was actually an art director in Wisconsin, my husband was in grad school. But when we moved back to this area, I decided to stay home with children. I stayed home with children for several years, and then when I decided to do something that was flexible, I started substitute teaching down in Austin. Then we moved up here and I thought it’d be a good way to get to know the school district, and I got to know everybody. Then a few years ago, I was asked to be a secretary over at ACCC.”

Q: What is your job here at the school?

A: “I am the secretary, I am also a registrar, which means that I do all the financial stuff as far as bank deposits, helping teachers with P.Os, and I take care of transcript requests from former students, I send out transcripts to universities for students that we have now. I also try to be here to help students when they have things that they need help with.”

Q: What is your favorite part about your job and why?

A: “I really like interacting with the other teachers, and I like interacting with students. I was really happy to start working here this year because I have always really enjoyed substitute teaching in the high school.”

Q: What is your favorite animal?

A: “My favorite animal? I haven’t really thought about it. I’m a big animal lover. Pretty much my favorite animal is any animal I am around at the moment. I am very…animal crazy. I love dogs, I love cats, I love animals at the zoo, I’m crazy about squirrels. It’s probably whatever I am around at the moment that’s my favorite animal.”

Q: If you could go on vacation for free, where would you go?

A: “Being that I am an art major and an art lover, I would say it’d probably be Italy.”

Q: Do you like music? If so what’s your favorite genre?

A: “That depends on my mood, kind of like the animal thing. I like a lot of different types of music. I like everything from classical, to popular, I’ll even listen to country western on an occasion, but I would have to be in the mood.”

Q: What is your favorite food?

A: “That’s gonna have to be pizza. I know that it’s not good for me, but I like pizza.”

Q: Do you have a favorite movie or book?

A: I’ll watch this from time to time, but love the movie Amadeus. It’s probably one of my favorites. As far as books go, my favorite all time books are the ‘All Creatures Great and Small’ series.

Q: What is your favorite color?

A: That depends on my mood. I like purple, red, and I like yellow. Those are my three favorite colors.
