Q: Tell me about your background. Where are you from? Where did you go to school?

A: “I am from Arkansas. I went to high school at De Queen Arkansas. I went to college at Henderson state.”

Q: How did you get into education, and how long have you been in education?

A : “This is actually my first year teaching. I got into education pretty early on, actually. I went to a high school that had kinda a similar program as Ada does, and you can take classes at the high school and it will help you toward an education degree. I had to change my major three times in college before I figured out that I wanted to teach.”

Q: what classes do you teach or what’s your job description ?

A: “I teach U.S. History to juniors and I’m also the head girls soccer coach.”

Q: what’s your favorite part of the job and Why?

A: “My favorite part of this is the kids, absolutely. I’m being able to be around bright shining faces all day, it’s the best thing in the whole world.”

Q: Why did you decide to come to Ada High school and how do you feel about it so far?

A: “I decided to come to Ada High School because I was already in Ada, my husband has got a job at East Central, so I was here anyways so I wanted to get a job that I could utilized my degree because that’s what I’ve always wanted to do is teach. So When I interviewed for the job I felt like I was at home. And so far it’s going very well.”

Q: What’s your favorite animal and why?

A: “My favorite animal is dogs because I have a dog named Rollo. He’s half pit and half lab and he’s like my child, I don’t have any kids.”

Q: What’s your favorite color?

A: “My favorite color is blue.”

Q: What sports did you play in college?

A: “I participated in archery in Arkansas. It’s a really big deal and there is a lot of  scholarship money. I was also active in a lot of different programs. I helped with student ministry on campus, I was also an ambassador for school.  I did just about any of the activities in organizations I could get into, and honor societies as well.”

Q: What is your favorite Disney movie?

A: “My favorite Disney movie is Aladdin. With that, my favorite Disney princess is Jasmine because she has a pet tiger.”

Q: What is your favorite book?

A: “My favorite book is The Book Thief because I really love history. I think its a very unique take on the perspective of death and the fact that it’s written that way. This book also has some pretty historically accurate facts and I really like that book.”
