Crochet DIY: Pumpkin Coasters

These coasters are a quick project to do! They’re so cute and easy to make. You can make a set of four or six depending on who you want to gift them to or if they’re for yourself then just make as many as you want. I found this pattern on Pinterest, but I made a modification because I didn’t like the look of the green stem. Also, be sure to use cotton yarn or hot drinks may melt the yarn.

Materials:

  • H- Hook: 5.0 mm
  • Cotton yarn in orange, brown and green
  • Yarn Needle
  • Scissors

Abbreviations:

  • Chain-ch
  • Stitch- st
  • Slip Stitch- sl st

  • Magic Circle- MC

Pattern:

Start with orange yarn and a Magic circle then ch 2

Round 1: Dc 11 st into the MC (11)

Round 2: 2 dc in each st around, sl st to join. (22)

Round 3: Ch 2, 2 dc in the next 10 st, sl st in the next 2 st, then 2 dc in the last 10 st, sl st to join. (42)

Fasten off and leave a tail to weave in.

Ch 3, sc in 2 st and sl st into the last st with the sc then fasten off.

Sew the brown stem to your pumpkin top and you’re done!
