Q: What class do you teach?

A: Instrumental Music Classes (Band)

Q: How long have you’ve been teaching?

A: Twelve-ish years

Q: Have you always taught in Ada? If not at what schools have you taught?

A: My first teaching job out of college was at Ardmore for six years. Then I had an opportunity to teach at Byng for three years. Then I was hired as an Assistant Band Director for Ada, and I have taught here for ten years.

Q: Where did you go to high school?

A: Ada High

Q: Where did you attend college?

A: Oklahoma University

Q:What did you major in?

A: I graduated with a Bachelor of Music Education Degree.

Q: Were you in the Oklahoma University Band? If so, what did you play?

A: Yes, I played the Trombone for the OU band.

Q:Why did you want to work in Ada?

A: I graduated from Ada, and Ada has always had a great band program.

Q:What does a band director do?

A: We teach the beginners the basics of playing an instrument and progress from there.

Q:How is the band doing this year?

A: We’re off to a great start this year. Band camp was great and our competition show “West Side Story” is well underway this year.
