Someone Like You is a story about young love and everlasting friendship. The two main characters Halley and Scarlett have been best friends for many years. Scarlett gets word that her boyfriend Michael is killed in an accident, and then soon after finds out that she is carrying his baby. This book was found to be very relatable to the teenage crowd, and received very good feedback. The movie How to Deal was an adaptation of this novel and Dessen’s novel That Summer. I believe this is one of Sarah Dessen’s most well written books, and the story line has so much packed into it that you cant put the book down. If you’re looking for a good read over the break, I suggest this one or any of the other Sarah Dessen novels!
